This is the cuvée produced from vines located in the heights of the estate. Hence its name: “Le Haut de la Butte” (meaning “Top of the hill” in French). It is perhaps not the noblest cuvée of the Domaine de la Butte (“Mi-Pente” is the greatest cuvée of terroir created by Jacky Blot), but this “Haut de la Butte” make the best out somewhat poorer soils. A beautiful dark color that suggests a beautiful concentration. The nose is typical of Cabernet Franc, intense and lively : it will make your mouth water! On the palate, a beautiful wine, full of complexity, fresh and gourmet, beautiful velvety texture, fairly fine tannins. A very fine wine by Jacky Blot, the famous head winemaker at Domaine de la Butte in Bourgueil.
