About the Winery
Domaine de La Chopinière du Roy exemplifies the dedication of organic winemaking in the Loire Valley. This spanning 26 hectares property, helmed by Christophe & Sophie Ory, focuses on careful soil cultivation and the vibrant purity of the fruit. Careful vinification and patient maturation take place in spectacular troglodyte cellars carved deep into limestone bedrock, creating an ideal setting to elevate Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc across Bourgueil, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil. During your visit, you will enjoy a warm, attentive cellar-door welcome complete with insightful explanations of the winemaking process and a guided tasting of the estate's vintages.

The vineyard is cultivated according to the principles of sustainable agriculture which only uses phytosanitary products to treat the vines when necessary, and not systematically. This family-owned estate, with 8 generations of winemakers, invites you to discover the fruits of our labor through our cuvées of Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil, Bourgueil, Blanc, Rosé, and Crémant de Loire. Enjoy a guided tour of our troglodyte cellar, a unique journey into a 4 km underground space where you can taste unique cuvées filled with history. Discover our expertise and the history of the appellation during a tour of our cellars and estate. Embark on an adventure with a 1.5-hour guided hike through our 28-hectare vineyard, where you'll learn all about our traditions and terroir. At the end of your journey, a tasting of our wines awaits you. The estate offers services for families, cyclists, and people with reduced mobility. Our tours are available every day, and dogs are welcome.
