The 2021 vintage in Touraine wasn’t the easiest ride, but it turned challenges into balance. After historic frosts in April and a late-starting summer, growers needed patience… and copper. June and July brought mildew pressure, but the surviving grapes enjoyed a dry, sunny August. The result: an excellent dry white profile, full of freshness, with delicate notes of pear and citrus and a crisp, tense finish. No sun-chasing here—just a classic, finely cut expression, reminiscent of older vintages. Compared to areas like Muscadet or Anjou, Touraine fared better in terms of yield, though volumes were still below average. Scoring 4.0 out of 5, 2021 earns its place in a well-balanced cellar.
