The 2018 vintage in Touraine for dry whites stands out as a Divine vintage, rated 4.7, a true climatic gift after a spring that gave us a few rainy scares. The summer was exceptionally hot and dry, followed by a sunny September, offering ideal conditions for perfect ripeness and impeccable grape health. The result in the glass lives up to these conditions: whites of beautiful richness, seductive aromatic complexity, where one finds notes of pear or mandarin, all supported by a balanced freshness. While the entire Loire region produced some very nice whites in 2018, Touraine particularly managed to capture the generosity of this sunny year, offering wines with that little extra soul and notable aging potential. The quantity harvested, ultimately average, only adds to the success of this remarkable vintage.
