Harvest quantity:

The 2014 vintage in Savennières is nothing short of divine, standing out as one of the highlights of the decade for this iconic appellation. Despite a spring marked by rain and hailstorms that reduced yields, a dry summer and radiant September allowed the grapes to achieve exceptional concentration. The Chenin Blancs of 2014 shine with their balance of freshness, tension, and aromatic richness, offering notes of ripe fruits, honey, and minerality. Compared to other Loire appellations producing dry white wines (such as Pouilly-Fumé or Vouvray), Savennières particularly excelled with consistent quality and more pronounced structure. While harvest volumes were below average, the quality of the juice more than compensated for this scarcity. A year that will remain etched in the memory of great Loire white wine enthusiasts. Score: 4.6/5.
