The Saumur 2022 vintage is divine, offering wines of great purity and remarkable precision. While the year was marked by climatic challenges such as spring frosts, early drought, and summer heatwaves, the early harvest allowed the grapes to retain exceptional freshness and acidity. The dry Chenin Blancs stand out for their dazzling aromatic clarity, with notes of citrus, tropical fruits, and honeysuckle blending harmoniously. The maturation, aided by late August rains, provided beautiful concentration, enhancing the minerality typical of the Saumur terroirs. While the harvest volume was moderate, the quality of the wines is incredible. The palates are round and long, offering beautiful complexity and a promising aging potential. This vintage deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
