Saumur 2021

The Saumur 2021 vintage is excellent, offering wines of great precision and finesse. After a cold and wet spring, followed by a cooler summer, the climatic conditions led to a late ripening of the grapes, but also a remarkable concentration of aromas. Although the harvest was more modest, the Chenin Blanc stood out, showing beautiful freshness, well-integrated acidity, and delicate aromas of white fruits and flowers. The wines of Saumur 2021 are characterized by a lively tension and great purity, with clean and chiseled palates. Compared to other Loire appellations, Saumur managed to take full advantage of its terroirs, delivering a well-balanced and classic vintage, with wines of great elegance and promising aging potential. This vintage deserves a rating of 4/5.
