However, prolonged drought led to hydric stress that occasionally delayed vine maturity, pushing harvests to span from September 15 to October 6, slightly later than expected. This vintage competes brilliantly with its neighbors, particularly Chinon and Saumur, in terms of finesse and elegance, but like Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil, experienced a slight quantitative shortfall. Hailstorms also affected certain areas, reducing yields.
