Domaine la Melotine, nestled in the gentle undulations of Reugny, cultivates the art of Chenin with a joyful seriousness reminiscent of 19th-century winemakers, when travelers on the “Orléans train” (inaugurated in 1843) would gladly stop for a glass before continuing their journey. Here, the walk often begins in the vineyards: a tour that lets you feel, almost under your feet, the famous clay and flint soils cherished by Vouvray winemakers.
And since geography sometimes has a sense of elegance, you are just a stone’s throw from Vouvray, a charming neighbor whose troglodyte cellars watch over the slopes like an old cellar master guarding his barrels. An essential stop to extend the adventure — in moderation, but without hesitation.
