Looking to explore a winery that’s both historic and lively? Domaine du Croc du Merle, not far from Blois in Muides-sur-Loire, has been cultivating the riches of the Loire Valley terroir since 1794. With three partners at the helm, this family-run estate spans 12 hectares in the AOC Cheverny and Crémant de Loire appellations. Their Cheverny wines, praised in the Hachette guide, include white blends of Sauvignon and Chardonnay, as well as red and rosé offerings featuring Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Cabernet Franc. Crémant de Loire, a sparkling wine, utilizes the traditional method with Chardonnay. For non-alcoholic enjoyment, try their festive sparkling grape juice. Group tours are available by reservation year-round.
