The Domaine des Pierrettes (small stones in French) is located in a perfect spot for those touring the Loire Valley. A (small) stone’s throw from two of the most famous castles of the region : Amboise and Chaumont-sur-Loire.
The Domaine des Pierrettes produces almost a dozen of different cuvées, all with the “Touraine” appellation. Red, white, rosé and sparkling wines, produced from varied grape varieties (among which is Malbec, or “Côt” in French, which yields interesting earthy more complex Touraine wines, with lingering tannins). The whole range offers great value since the Touraine appellation is still less renowned than neighbouring more prestigious ones such as Chinon or Sancerre.
Its 35 hectares of vineyards is crossed by the Loire à Vélo circuit, making it also a perfect winery tour for cyclers. The wine tasting can be accompanied by local products. Also, the Domaine des Pierrettes organizes frequent happenings such as music concerts or local products sales.
