Domaine de la Taille aux Loups

Jacky Blot created the Domaine de la Taille aux Loups in the early 1990s on a terroir for which he felt a great potential. Jacky Blot, a former wine broker, is a tireless and demanding entrepreneur. From vine to glass, the result is there. A search for pure and straight wines, without compromising on precision.

A wine tasting visit to the Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is always a privileged experience. Jacky or his wife will undoubtedly suggest you start with a glass of sparkling Montlouis : the famous “Triple Zero” cuvée. It’s sharp, with notes of vanilla and toast, an excellent balance between rich flavors and lively acidity. You may then have the chance to taste Clos Mosny or Clos Michet : this last cuvée has the particularity of coming from vines exposed to the South (the standard on the opposite bank with the Vouvray appellation, rarer in the appellation Montlouis).

As for dry white wines, there is also the very fine Remus and its big brother the Remus Plus: a blend of three small plots located in the same area, which has spent a little more time in barrels than Clos Michet. One of our favorite wines from the Domaine de la Taille aux Loups : structured, concentrated, complex. Beauty can be martial. For amateurs, the cellar visit will end with the Cuvée des Loups, a sweet wine made from botrytised grapes and of beautiful elegance.
