Our take on this winery

Saumur-Champigny is sometimes wrongly considered as a small appellation. People who still say this have certainly never opened a bottle produced at Château de Chaintres!

The wines of the winery (sorry, the Château) perfectly reveal the aromatic intensity of the terroir. The wines of Château de Chaintres also make wonderful wines for aging. I know, that all of us are good at being patient. But if you resist the (natural) urge to open the bottle right away, you will enjoy pure gems in the future!

Whatsmore, since 2007, the Château de Chaintres winery has been gradually decreasing the use of chemicals and obtained its organic certification in 2013. Enjoy.

Château de Chaintres produces wines from different Loire Valley appellations such as Saumur Champigny, Saumur, Crémant de Loire. The vineyard is cultivated organically : no synthetic or insecticide treatment is used in the vines and the addition of sulfur during vinification is very limited. Château de Chaintres has received our “Very nice wines” badge. This badge distinguishes wineries whose wines are regularly mentioned in French wine guides.
