Here are some food pairing suggestions to avoid any culinary mistakes…
It’s worth noting that Savennières wines are dry, aromatic white wines produced in Anjou, south of Angers. They are made from chenin blanc and can be compared to Vouvray wines, which are also produced from this grape variety (although the winemakers from both AOCs will disagree!).
Savennières wines pair excellently with many dishes, particularly fish and seafood, white meats, and vegetables. They are also great with soft-ripened cheeses like camembert and brie.
Feeling curious? Here are some additional pairing suggestions for a Savennières wine:
Grilled or pan-seared seafood, such as shrimp, mussels or oysters
Herbed chicken and vegetable dishes
Pork roast with apples
Grilled vegetables, such as asparagus, zucchini and peppers.
Bon appétit!
