Jacky Blot, head winemaker of Domaine de la Butte, offers here one of the three eponymous wines of the estate: “Le Pied de la Butte”. This is the cuvée produced from vines located in a plot in the lower part of the hillside (hence the name “Pied de la Butte”, meaning “foof of the hill” in French). This Bourgueil wine is 100% Cabernet Franc, as it should be in the appellation. Dark crimson color. On the palate, it is complex, notes of spices, pepper, red fruits, earth, leather. A beautiful Bourgueil from Jacky Blot’s “entry level” cuvée. Cheers!
