The Muscadet vineyard sits on a unique subsoil composed of metamorphic rocks such as gneiss, schist, and granite, offering the vines an ideal terrain to express a fresh and saline minerality. The mineral-rich soils contribute to vibrant and delicate wines, often characterized by iodine-like notes. Historically, vine cultivation in the Muscadet region dates back to the Middle Ages, with significant expansion in the 17th century, when the Dutch popularized these wines to supply their ships.

The Muscadet AOC extends along the Loire Valley, primarily around Nantes, in the heart of the Pays Nantais region.
The Muscadet AOC exclusively produces dry white wines made from Melon de Bourgogne. The appellation, established in 1937, covers approximately 9,000 hectares and includes 450 winegrowers.
