Harvest quantity:

The 2020 vintage in Touraine is one of those quietly brilliant years—modest in the vineyard, divine in the glass. A mild, rainy winter built water reserves without flooding, followed by an early spring with budburst starting in early April. Summer brought two heatwaves in August, but thanks to good hydration from May–June rains, the vines held up beautifully. Harvest started early, around late August, and produced dry whites with balance, aromatic lift, and real complexity. While hailstorms hit Centre-Loire hard, Touraine was mostly spared and delivered an elegant, well-structured vintage. Scoring 4.4 out of 5, it’s a vintage to enjoy now—or patiently revisit later.
