Saumur 2017

The 2017 Saumur vintage is divine, marked by a particularly favorable climate for grape maturation. Despite a late frost in April that reduced part of the harvest, the summer conditions were ideal: sunny days and cool nights in late August allowed for perfect ripening of the berries, providing an excellent balance between sugar and acidity. Harvests, starting on August 28th, revealed exceptional sanitary conditions and wines of great purity. Compared to other Loire appellations, Saumur stands out with impressive freshness and aromatic precision, with whites that are particularly harmonious, fruity, and with great length. While the quantity is average, the quality of the wines exceeds that of 2016, offering a vintage among the best in recent years in the region.
